Next Saturday champion driver Noel Baldacchino will be representing our country in the Prix de Rencontres Internationales at the Vincennes racetrack in Paris.

This is an annual racing appointment in which the drivers hail from different countries. It is a “for sale” race in which the participating horses aged from 6 to 10 years are being advertised for a price starting from €22,000. The total prize money for this race is €22,000 and the distance is 2100m.

Saturday’s participants are fifteen and Baldacchino has drawn number 2 behind the autostart and he will be driving the 10-year old Puy de Sancy.

The race is the 7th one of the programme and starts at 16:45.

The invitation by the French Trotting Association included also David Ellul as the owner of Label Chouan who last year was the best French trotter in Malta.  Friday evening a special dinner is held during which the International Awards for the best French trotters in foreign countries are held.

Both Noel Baldacchino and David Ellul will be accompanied by Dr Matthew Brincat, Chairman of the Malta Racing Club who on Saturday morning will also be attending a meeting with the other representatives of every participating country.

The delegations, on Sunday morning will also have the opportunity to visit the horse training centre at Grosbois and afterwards see the Final of the Grand National du Trot at Vincennes.
