Bajada’s ASD Fiaccola end season in third place

Maltese international player Daniel Bajada ended this season’s commitments with Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola on a positive note when on Saturday evening his side narrowly defeated Tenute Zinni Casalbordino “Il Sole” 5-4 in Castellana Grotte, Bari.

The Maltese youngster, currently ranked no. 204, managed two identical 3-0 wins against Franco Spagnoli (no. 1404) and Cristian Campagnari (no. 335) respectively. Bajada also suffered a 3-1 defeat against no. 54 Li Weimin.

Thus, ASD Fiaccola have now finished in joint third place alongside ASDTT Libertas Sassari.

Next weekend Bajada will feature in the local National Championships at the University Sports Complex while days later he will return to Italy for a one week training camp with the Maltese national team ahead of the Games for the Small States of Europe in Liechtenstein during the first week of June. Bajada has been selected to participate in the Singles, Doubles and Team events.
