Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola continued their positive run on Saturday evening when they beat APD Tauromenion Taormina 5-3 in Sicily to claim their sixth win of the campaign.

Maltese international player Daniel Bajada set the team off to a winning start by narrowly beating no. 344 Roberto La Torre 3-2. In his next match the 17-year old national champion lost 3-0 to no. 199 Marcello Puglisi.

These matches brought to an end Bajada’s commitments for this month who now anxiously awaits the new rankings to be published at the end of the month by the Italian Table Tennis Federation to monitor his progress from his current ranking at no. 256.

In early March the Maltese youngster will be participating in the ITTF Junior Circuit in Lignano Sabbiadoro, Italy followed by his side’s next league match at home against ASD Sport Club Etna on March 12.
