Next Saturday starting at 6pm, the Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi (ASMK) will be holding the twelfth and the last event of the season before the summer break. This is another special event with the participation of Gozitan drivers and includes the Vans Demolition Derby starting at 11.00pm. For the Vans Demolition Derby, ASMK registered 13 drivers on van vehicles such as Toyota Liteace, Ford Transit, Tata Sierra, Fiat Ducati, Peugeot boxer, Tata Safari, Tata Delcia, Mercedes Vito amongst others. Tickets for both events are available at the door for €5 for adults, while accompanied children enter for free.

The ASMK Pasta Poiatti  National Championship 2017/2018 which is still completely undecided includes the Modified and the Standard classes. In the Modified class, Vince Farrugia on his Volkswagen Polo who currently tops the classification with 221 points and Karl Micallef on a Ford Fiesta with 208 points are dwelling for the title. Third place is shared between Jean Paul Grech on his Peugeot 106 and Noel Zammit on his Fiat Punto with 197 points each.

In the Standard Class there is still the race for the lead between Deane Farrugia on  Citroen AX of  and Nicovich Chircop on Peugeot 106. Although Farrugia is currently suspended by the Disciplinary Board he has accumulated enough points and stands a good chance to win the title without competing in this last event. This is adding pressure on Chircop as if he wins this Saturday race final he will be declared Class Winner for the first time. In the present classification Farrguia has 64 points while Chircop has 56 points.

Meanwhile last Saturday the ASMK organized the last event of the ASMK National Trials Championship sponsored by ASMK and Pasta Poiatti. In Class A Damon Bonello on a Gas Gas motorcycle won again and was followed by Rowen Bonello on a Beta.

In Class B Isaac Scicluna on a Beta won this class followed by Dion Micallef on a Beta. Karl Bartolo also on a Beta finished third. In the Junior Class Julian Scicluna won on an electric powered mini-Beta bike designed for young competitors.

Following this event ASMK honoured the National Trials Champions 2017/2018 where again the championship winner in this class was Damon Bonello. The Class B Champion and first time winner was Dion Micallef on a Beta. Micallef also won the Overall of his Class.  In the children category called Juniors Class, Julian Scicluna was declared Overall Winner while Jaden Abela finished as Runner Up.
