ASD Fiaccola out of promotion contention

Maltese international player Daniel Bajada’s Serie B1 side ASD Fiaccola are out of contention of being promoted to Serie A2 after narrowly losing 5-4 against direct opponents APD G. Castello in Rome on Saturday evening.

Bajada, now ranked no. 204 according to the latest rankings published in April, featured in three matches, managing one win and two losses. Bajada first lost against Daniele Bianchi (no. 205) 3-1 and then against Marco Del Bravo (no. 211) 3-0. In his final match he managed a convincing 3-0 win over Augusto Ferranti (no. 157).

The Maltese youngster’s season in Italy comes to an end next Saturday when ASD Fiaccola play their final league match at home against Tenute Zinni Casalbordino ‘Il Sole’.

In the meantime, Bajada is intensifying his preparations ahead of his participation at the Games for the Small States of Europe in Liechtenstein during the first week of June.
