ASA – “Water polo competitions resume”

Following the urgent Council meeting held on July 28, 2014, the ASA Executive Committee announces that all National Competitions will resume with immediate effect.

The matches previously scheduled for last Saturday July 26, 2014 are postponed as follows:

Wed 30 Jul 2014 18:45 Premier League Sirens Ritta Sport V Exciles Ferretti.
Wed 30 Jul 2014 20:00 Premier League Valletta McDonald’s V San Giljan Allcare Insurance.

On July 28th, The ASA Disciplinary Commissioner, acting on uncontested referee’s report took the following decisions:

Match: BOV Premier Division Knock Out 2014 Semi Final played at the National Pool on the 23 July 2014 between Neptunes and Sirens

Report: In the third session at 3:59, blue cap number 10, Edward Aquilina, excluded with substitution (direct red card) for aggressive play.

Sirens Coach, Joh Farrugia shown a red card for protesting.

At the end of the match, Sirens supporters threw a full bottle of water towards the referee Massimo Angileri. Also Sirens Supoorters insulted the same referee from the VIP area and called him “Korrott” repeatedly.

Re: Agreesive play by Edward Aquilina – Aquilina Fined EUR70.00

Re: Red Card shown to John Farrugia – Farrugia Fined EUR58.00

Re: Sirens, for throwing of bottle by supporters – Sirens Fined EUR116

Re: Sirens, for supporting calling referee “Korrott” – Sirens Find EUR250 and reprimanded.
