ASA President resigns

Dr. Austin Sammut

Dr. Austin Sammut has this evening resigned from his post as President of the ASA with immediate effect. Dr. Sammut handed in his resignation during a Council meeting after a year and five months at the helm. He had previously been involved in the administration of Neptunes WPSC, occupying the post of Club President between 1994 and 1997.

In the mean time, Extraordinary General Meeting that was requested by six clubs last week has been scheduled to take place next Monday 15th November. The only item on the agenda of this meeting is the vote of no confidence in current ASA General Secretary Remy Damato.
