Bonello Spiteri has already made her mark in the UK triathlon scene, and hitting the podium is now in her books. Whilst rubbing shoulders with UK’s top triathletes on the scene, they also know that she is one to be watching out for.

Bonello Spiteri’s next appointment was the Ilkley triathlon which consisted of a 500m pool based swim, where she clocked 7.54. She then headed out onto a three lap 5km bike course, 2km of which were steep uphill, yet this is where Bonello Spiteri showed her true grit, clocking 33minutes on the route. A quick transition led out onto a tough 5km run, which also included the steep 2km uphill, clocking 21min 15seconds.

This gave her a total time of 1hr 03min, 32seconds, placing her 2nd overall and 1st in her age group (30-39). The race was won by UK top athlete Rachel Bamford.

Bonello Spiteri’s next commitment is the Malta Triathlon Championships to be held on local grounds this Sunday, where she seeks to claim her National Triathlon Championship title for the 10th time.
