Another spate of records at the 18th International Age Group Swimming Meeting 28th – 30th April 2011

The swimmers who did a National Record and Age Group Record together with the National Coach Andy Colbourn and Neptunes Swimming Coach Gail Rizzo

The 18th International Age Group Swimming Meeting organised by the ASA over the last three days at  the National Pool, Tal-Qroqq proved to be another memorable event as an  impressive streak of  5 national records and 10 age group records were broken (see details in the email).

The ASA National Female Swimmers Relay team  achieved the MQS set by the MOC for the forthcoming GSSE in Liechenstein. The team made up of Nicola Muscat, Davina Mangion, Melinda Sue Micallef and Talisa Pace clocked 4.03.37.

The ASA National Male Swimmers Relay team made a national record which is also a qualifying time for GSSE when Andrea Agius, Neil Agius, Mark Sammut and Edward Caruana Dingli clocked  3.38.35 in the 4 x 100 free to erase the previous time of  3.42.22.

Both team are under the guidance of National Coach Andy Colbourn who gave the following comments: “These results are due to the hard  work and professionalism of the National Team swimmers and thanks to their dedication, Malta now has the largest team ever of qualified swimmers for GSSE”.

Participating Clubs in this swimming meet were  B’Kara St. Joseph, IASIS, Neptunes WPSC, Sirens ASC and Sliema ASC together with swimmers from Germany and UK.
