Another Big Night of Boxing !

Thursday, December 6, 2012, 8:19

Dutchman Boxer Harry Duiven Jr ranking 4th in the European Boxing Federation (EBF) Heavyweight category boasts a remarkable boxing record where he is known to have lost only seven fights out of twenty-three encounters with four of these defeats coming against boxers who were ranked number 1 in the EBF rankings at some time!

This is why Malta’s semi-professional heavyweight boxer Billy Corito faces what is being described as his hardest and toughest fight yet when on Friday 7th December he meets Harry Duiven Jr.  An important appointment indeed for ‘The Hit Man’ who is keen to continue with his positive run of victories and to better his 6th placing in the EBF Heavyweight category rankings.

Based at Lords Gym in St. Julians., Corito follows regular stiff training to sharpen his physical condition which includes long hours of ‘fighting’ practice with one of Billy’s favourite sparring partners Scott Whelton, also known as Bam Bam, a tough six-footer plus, who can take Billy’s strong punches.

“Yes I prefer sparring with Bam Bam as he can stays on his feet whilst we spar, he a strong man”, declared Corito.

From his side Bam Bam, who has been inMaltafor the past fortnight, believes that “Billy is the best boxer I’ve fought – fast, powerful, agile and technically correct. He is improving every time I come over to spar, a tough opponent for anybody on the planet”.

Since his first fight in 2007 Billy Corito has featured in ten fights all of which he won. One of these fights Corito won on points with all the other nine encounters he won with technical knock outs – eight of which in the second round and one in the first round. Fights 8, 9 and 10 were held valid for classification in the EBF Heavyweight Category rankings.

Billy Corito’s Fighting Record reads:
