Malta’s Alex Borg will be joining fellow countryman Tony Drago on the World Snooker Main Tour after earning a two year card for the 2013/14 and 2014/15 seasons.

Borg has earned the place by virtue of his run to the Semi Finals of the 2012 IBSF World Snooker Championship last November in Bulgaria. He is now back on tour for the first time since the 2006/7 season.
Borg will be among the top 128 players in the World competing in the Tour which includes household names like Ronnie O’Sullivan and John Higgins. The Tour consists of 12 full ranking events played all over the world and a further 8 European Tour Championships and 4 Asian Tour Championships.
Borg said: It’s exciting to get back because it changed a lot from when I played last on Tour in 2007. Since Barry Hearn came in as Chairman of World Snooker the game is growing very fast and becoming more popular. It’s nice also to be joining Tony again on the Tour.
His first commitment on the Tour will be the Shangai Masters qualifiers which will be played at the Doncaster Dome between the 7 and 10 August.
