Sammut dominant in the Moto Enduro

Last Sunday ASMK organized the third event of the 2019/2020 National WotoMoto Enduro Championship in the Tal-Ballut quarry limits of Naxxar. 19 riders divided into four classes were registered for this event.

Once again, Bernard Sammut on his sponsored Beta continued to dominate right from the beginning by performing the best lap time on the 3.5 kilometers Enduro track. During his Qualifying Timed Laps Sammut dominated the overall too by clocking his lap in 4 minutes 29.94 seconds. He continued to improve on this in his first timed race by recording a lap in 4 minutes 22.98 seconds and a 2md timed Lap in 4 minutes 16.92 seconds. So, Sammut won both his class and the Overall of Day with his total time of 8 minutes 39.89 seconds. Matthew Gauci followed in 2nd place on his Sherco with a total time of 9 minutes 5.87 seconds while third placed James Zahra also on a Sherco recorded a total time of 9 minutes 45.42 seconds.

In Class B, Kyle Stone on a KTM continued to dominate this class once again. He won with a total time of 11 minutes 19.99 seconds and is followed by Krist Falzon on a Husqvarna with a total time of 13 minutes 25.33 seconds.

In Class C, Jamie Vassallo on his KTM motorcycle won with his total time of 13 minutes 30.64 seconds. Daniel Sammut on a KTM followed in 3rd place with a total time of 15 minutes 23.03 seconds.

Class D is for Junior Riders also challenge the Enduro track at an early age. Julian Scicluna on his Beta won this class with a total time of 14 minutes 32.79 seconds and was followed by Antoine Muscat on a KTM motorcycle with a total time of 17 minutes 18.12 seconds. Another Enduro event is to take place on Sunday 9th February 2020 at Mqabba and starts at 10.00am.

On Sunday 26th January 2020 Assocjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi is to continue with the Autocross car races of the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National League 2019/2020. This fifth event is to be held at the ASMK Sports Complex of Ta’ Qali and starts at 11.00am.

A light look at the championship standings after three races in the Modified Autocross National Championship we find that Andrew Pisani on his Opel Nova is leading and is followed by Karl Micallef on an Opel Corsa and by the Peugeot 106 of Jean Paul Grech.

In Class B Jonathan Camilleri on his Opel Nova is leading ahead of Ryan Scicluna and Noel Vella, both on Ford Fiesta cars.

In the Autocross Standard Class Kyle Agius on his Opel Nova is leading this classification and is  followed by Jerome Peplow on his Kia Avella and by Nicovich Chircop on his Peugeot 106.

Meanwhile, the Executive Committee on the recommendation by the Autocross Committee decided that the Sunday 12 January 2020 event which was abandoned due to bad weather track conditions, is to be continued on Monday 10th February 2020, a public holiday and starts at 12.00pm.
