BOV Basketball Players of the Year Announced

David Bugeja (Virtus Starlites Basketball Club) wins 1^st Division Award

Alec Felice Pace (Starlites Basketball) wins 2^nd Division Award

David Bugeja won the BOV Basketball 1^st Division Player of the Year award for Basketball while Alec Felice Pace won the BOV Basketball 2^nd Division Player of the Year award for season 2015/2016.

Bugeja was a main protagonist in Virtus’ outstanding season where they won 5 awards, ending the season on a high beating Athleta 3-0 in the best-of-5 final. The versatile player constantly featured high in the scoresheets as well as earning a reputation as a tough defender

Felice Pace had a dream season in 2015/2016. He was a main protagonist in Starlites successful BOV Men’s 2^nd Division league as well as in the U19 league, where he was also voted Player of the Year.

Stefan Abela, Community Relations Officer at Bank of Valletta presented the winners with a commemorative trophy in the presence of Paul Sultana, President of the Malta Basketball Association.

David Bugeja rebaħ l-unur tal-BOV Basketball Plejer tas-Sena tal-Ewwel Diviżjoni għall-Basketball filwaqt li Alec Felice Pace rebaħ l-unur tal-BOV Basketball Plejer tas-Sena tat-Tieni Diviżjoni għall-istaġun 2015/2016.

Bugeja kien protagonist ewlieni fl-istaġun eċċellenti ta’ Virtus li fih rebħu 5 unuri, biex temmew l-istaġun b’rebħa kbira ta’ 3-0 fuq Athleta fil-finali tal-best-of-5. Il-plejer versatili kien b’mod kostanti fil-quċċata tal-lista tal-aqwa skorers kif ukoll irnexxielu jikseb ir-reputazzjoni ta’ difensur b’saħħtu.

Felice Pace kellu staġun tal-ħolm fl-2015/2016. Huwa kien il-protagonist prinċipali fil-kampjonat BOV tat-Tieni Diviżjoni tal-Irġiel li Starlites temmew b’suċċess, kif ukoll fil-kampjonat ta’ taħt id-19-il sena, fejn ġie vvutat ukoll bħala l-Plejer tas-Sena.
